William K. Bowling, 92, of Holton died at 5:10 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2020, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Funeral services were Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Masonic services were held also. Burial was at Indiana Veterans Cemetery in Madison.
Mr. Bowling, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, had worked for the B&O Railroad, was a truck driver, and drove for Consolidated Freightways having driven over the road for 43 years and receiving the million mile safe driving patch. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in West Carrollton, Ohio, and was also a Shriner. Mr. Bowling loved spending time with his family.
Born June 6, 1928, in Hazard, Kentucky, Mr. Bowling was the son of William and Martha Mosley Bowling. He married Suscellia Baker and she survives.
Other survivors include sons, William Bowling of Holton and Michael (Erin) Bowling of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Carla (Tom) Poynter of Holton; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul and Floyd Bowling; and sisters, Ethel, Ruth, Bessie, Katherine, and Judy.
Mr. Bowling was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Geneva Knicely and Marie Baker; and brother, Watt Baker.
Memorials may be given to the Holton Masonic Lodge in care of the funeral home.
