Wayne John Komsi III, 59, of North Vernon died Tuesday, September 1, 2020, at his residence.
Funeral services, with military rites, were held Monday, September 14, 2020, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Ironwood, Michigan.
Mr. Komsi was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps retiring in 2003 after 20 years of service. He had served in Operation Desert-Shield Desert-Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Mr. Komsi had worked for Securitos in Indianapolis and Columbus and also Cummins Engine Company. He was a member of Amvets Post #7, Moose Lodge 576, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and a lifetime member of H.O.G. (a Harley-Davidson rider's group). He loved riding his motorcycle, pulling strangers out of ditches in the winter, fixing things, and animals.
Born February 25, 1961, in Montgomery, Maryland, Mr. Komsi was the son of Wayne John Komsi II and Jeanette K. Kelley Komsi. He married Michelle Craft February 14, 2006 in Butlerville and she survives.
Other survivors include children, Robert (Renee) Duncan of Plainfield, Illinois, Rebeka (Nate) Webb of Westport, Robbyn and Wayne J. Komsi IV, both of North Vernon, Belinda Bickford of Wisconsin, Emily (Jacob) Tickle of Aurora, and Victoria Craft of Columbus; grandchildren, Johnathon and Lulu Webb, both of Westport, Elliana Orcutt of Aurora, Jasper Stewart and Zane Craft, both of Columbus, Lillian Komsi of North Vernon, Sebastian Duncan of Illinois, and Elijah and Samuel Bickford, both of Wisconsin; siblings, Aileen Potter of Ironwood, Michigan, Terrilynn Ratzel of Rotunda, Florida, and Thomas Komsi of Kill Devils Hills, North Carolina.
Mr. Komsi was preceded in death by his parents.
