Theola Inez Hunter, 87, of Columbus died Wednesday, September 2, 2020, at Four Seasons in Columbus.
A virtual memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020, followed by interment at Carmel Cemetery in Hanover. Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home and Crematory in Columbus was entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Hunter graduated from North Vernon High School and retired from Cummins Engine Company as a financial clerk. After retirement she enjoyed taking care of family and traveling. Mrs. Hunter loved sewing, knitting, sports, television game shows, and family cruises. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses.
Born October 5, 1932, in Vernon, Mrs. Hunter was the daughter of William and Clarice Pettiford Brewer. She married Kenneth Hunter February 18, 1950 and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include children, Brenda (David) Pitts, Kenny (Jacqueline) and Mark Hunter, all of Columbus, and Darlene Hunter-Foreman of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Nichole and Christopher Pitts, Alisha Peden, and Aaron, Adrian, and Marcus Hunter; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hunter was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Sgt. Jonathon Hunter; and siblings, William, Kenneth, and Ralph Brewer, Lovetta Harper, Oneida Smith, Myrna Staten, Nadine Litzy, and Olga Bush.
