Doris Droege-Graessle was an avid IU fan
Doris Evelyn Droege Graessle, 99, of Seymour died Friday, July 10, 2020, at Lutheran Community Home in Seymour.
Funeral services were at Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour Wednesday, July 15, 2020, with Pastor Joseph Barlou officiating.
Mrs. Graessle was a 1938 graduate of Shields High School and a graduate of a local business school. She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and an honorary retired member of Psi Iota Xi where she held numerous offices. Mrs. Graessle was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, the Elks Club, and the Seymour Country Club. She loved fishing, animals, her family cabin, and was an avid IU fan.
Born September 21, 1920, in Seymour, Mrs. Graessle was the daughter of C. Fred Droege and Bertha Resiner Droege. She married George Granville Graessle II September 27, 1945, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, George (Jane) III and Frederick (Pam) Graessle; grandchildren, Matthew (Brooke, Barrett, Aspen), and George (Julie) Graessle IV, Allyson (Travis) Hillmer-Smith, and Adrienne (Jonathon) Farrow; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Graessle was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lucinda Graessle-Hillmer; and brothers, Milton and Chester Droege.
Memorial may be given through the funeral home to Redeemer Lutheran Church or the Dr. Bud Scholarship.
