Gregory A. Bedel, 68, loved to camp, travel
Gregory A. Bedel, 68, died Friday, July 3, 2020, at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Doran Chambers officiating. Family and friends may call Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 3 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, July 9, 2020, from 9 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
Mr. Bedel owned and operated Bedel's Trans-missions in Seymour for 32 years and built transmissions for over 40 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, the VFW and the Eagles.
He enjoyed traveling out west in his camper and especially loved to take a yearly trip to Cancun, Mexico. Mr. Bedel also loved camping and boating at Hardy Lake for many years. He enjoyed driving around in his 1937 Ford Coupe and loved going to the National Street Rod Show in Louisville, KY. Mr. Bedel also enjoyed watching NASCAR and football.
Born in 1951 in Seymour, Mr. Bedel was the son of Luther and Thelma Joan Hinton Bedel. On June 21, 1986, he married Rosie Bradley at White Creek Methodist Church and she survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Shelly Johnson; grandchild, Greg Hunsucker; sisters, Carol (Cooney) Barger and Lucinda (Alvin) Killey; and brother, Kevin Bedel.
Mr. Bedel was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
