Earl Ralph Brown, 96, Navy veteran of WW II
Earl Ralph Brown, 96, of Seymour died Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
Funeral services were held at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Tuesday, July 7, 2020. Burial, with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour, followed at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour.
Mr. Brown was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served during WWII. He had worked at Arvin Industries and retired from Cummins Engine Company in 1986 and had also worked part of the time at Schneider Nursery. Born March 24, 1924, in Lawrence County, Mr. Brown was the son of Ralph Oscar and Lula Mary Fulps Brown. He married Janice Ann Roberts Brown July 4, 1996, and she preceded him in death May 30, 2017.
Survivors include his children, Robert (Janet) Brown and Pamela (Earnest) Coryea; grandchildren, Joi Troyer, Jeffrey (Jen) Brown, Robin (Marty) Wambach, Renae (Peter) Shadday, Melanie (Darin) Poole, and Michael (Mileana) Coryea; stepchildren, Cathy (Steve) Mosier, Michael (Zarita) and Darren J. (Pam) Roberts; step-grandchildren, Corey (Ashley) Mosier, Carley Meadows-Grounds, and Carri Meadows-Harper; 14 great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Clara (Robert) Sexton, Mary (Donavon) Coffey, and Evelyn (Dick) Owens.
Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; wives; son, Richard Brown; and siblings, Betty, Eugene, Edmund, Earnest, and Estel Brown, and Anna F. Stevens.
Donations in memory of Mr. Brown may be made to First Baptist Church in care of Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
