Clifford Wilson "Cliff" McCrory, 85, Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home
Clifford Wilson "Cliff" McCrory, 85, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:25 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2020, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.
Born March 17, 1935, in Anderson, he was the son of Clyde Frances McCrory, Sr., and Mary Myrtle Beeman McCrory. He married his first wife, Emma Colestock on January 21, 1961; she preceded him in death on May 12, 1995. He married his second wife, Sharon Nelson on September 2, 1995; she preceded him in death on May 6, 2019.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1959. Cliff was a cattle farmer and transported cattle for area farmers, he worked maintenance for Cummins Engine Company for 30 years before retiring in 1996. Cliff was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where he was a member of the Church orchestra, he also played his banjo every Tuesday at Majestic Care in North Vernon with other local musicians; he was a former bus driver for the North Vernon Church of the Nazarene. Cliff enjoyed sharing his musical talent by playing his banjo.
Survivors include his sisters, Della Hamilton of Westport and Susie Jane Barthlow of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Emma McCrory and Sharon McCrory; brothers, Clyde Frances McCrory Jr., and Harry Joel McCrory; and his sister, Gladys Jeanette Dwyer.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2020, in the Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Caleb Reynolds officiating. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon.
Memorials may be made in honor of Cliff through the funeral home to the First Church of the Nazarene in North Vernon.
