Mary Ellen Hall Johnson, 76, Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre
Mary Ellen Hall Johnson, 76, of Madison died Thursday, March 26, 2020, at 9:07 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services are pending at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Interment will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Johnson retired from U.S. Shoe Corporation after 17 years as a machine operator. Previously, she had worked for Fiesta Restaurant, Inglis Drug Store and Rogers Drug Store. Mrs. Johnson was a member of First Baptist Church, Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion, Madison Eagles Lodge, and the Madison JayCees. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and she loved her dog and playing Bingo.
Born August 29, 1943, in Madison, Mrs. Johnson was the laughter of Robert Lee and Mildred L. Spry Hall. She married Earl Spencer, Sr. in 1963. On June 14, 1986, she married Kenneth Wayne Johnson, Sr. in Bedford, Kentucky, and he survives.
Other survivors include her daughter, Revetta "Rita" Titsworth of Madison; son, Earl (Jeanie) Spencer, Jr. of Carrollton, Kentucky; stepdaughter, Amy Johnson of Valeo, California; stepson, Kenneth Johnson, Jr., of Valeo, California; grandchildren, Kyle, Kayla, Katie, Gage, Clarissa, Christina, and Cameron; five great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Larry) Stearns of North Vernon; and brother, Tony (Cheryl) Hall of Madison.
Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Patty Poynter.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
