Diana M. Matz, 83, Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home
Diana M. Matz, 83, of Columbus died Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Brown County Health and Living Community in Nashville.
Private graveside services will be held at Vernon Cemetery. Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home in Columbus was entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Matz graduated from North Vernon High School in 1954 and had worked at Maintenance Electrical Rep. Co., Inc. She was a member of East Columbus Christian Church where she was involved in the Missions Committee, Naomi Circle, and Nomad Class. Mrs. Matz was a volunteer for several years with Book Buddies program and Columbus Regional Hospital Auxiliary and was active with the Republican Party, serving as a precinct committeeman and vice-committeeman for many years. She enjoyed playing cards, board games, and traveling and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, IU football and basketball, and Navy football.
Born June 1, 1936, in North Vernon, Mrs. Matz was the daughter of Roland M. and Frances E. Platter Webster. She married Charles W. Matz August 6, 1955.
Survivors include daughters, Deborah L. (Robert) Matz-Bowers of Nashville, Julie (Gregory) Oates of Spring Hill, Tennessee, and Janet S. Law of Columbus; grandchildren, Kyle M. Littell of Columbus, Joshua (Dr. Rachel) Oates of Franklin, Tennessee, Dr. Ethan (Elizabeth Willmann) Oates of Indianapolis, and Seth C. Law of Southport; two great- granddaughters; stepsister, Sue Lauth of Findley, Ohio; and stepbrother, John R. Davis of Shelbyville, Kentucky.
Mrs. Matz was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and stepfather, Cy E. Davis.
Memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warriors or East Columbus Christian Church.
