Lynn Howard Clark, 79, Bass & Gasper Funeral Home
Lynn Howard Clark, 79, of Westport and formerly North Vernon, died at 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020, at his residence.
Private funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Mr. Clark, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, had lived most of his life in Columbus and had been a firefighter for the Columbus Fire Department, retiring as captain in 1985. He was also the recipient of the Firefighter of the Year award. Mr. Clark was a member of AmVets, American Legion, Eagles, the VFW in North Vernon, the Exchange Club of Columbus, and was past president of Jennings Northwest Regional Utilities. He enjoyed gardening and goat farming.
Born May 12, 1940, in Columbus, Mr. Clark was the son of Howard Clark and Dorothy Bivens Clark Barkes. He married Maudie Marty Willis October 10, 1961, in Brentwood, California and she survives.
Other survivors include his daughters, Kimberly Clark and Estelle (Phillip) Baugher, both of Columbus, Robin (Derek) Ramp of Seymour, and Angela Pratt of North Vernon; sisters, Marilyn (Gene) Gross, Joyce Meyer, and Sharon Weddle, all of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cathy Clark; brothers, Ray, Donald, and Larry Clark; and grandsons, Avery Baugher and Stevie Krebbs.
