Charles "Charlie" Norman Siener, 87, of West Lafayette died at 3:55 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2020, at the Indiana Veterans Home.
Funeral services were Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Myers-Reed Funeral Home in Columbus. Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Mr. Siener, a 1951 graduate of North Vernon High School, was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and retired from Arvin Industries. He loved celebrating Mass, gardening, fishing, golfing, attending sporting events of his children, playing rummy, and visiting with family and friends. Mr. Siener also enjoyed going down to camp with family and getting lost on Sunday afternoon drives as well as being a member of the American Legion and playing bingo with fellow veterans.
Born July 16, 1932, in North Vernon, Mr. Siener was the son of Helen and Art Siener. He married Cynthia (Cindy) Carl in 1958 and his former spouse survives in Columbus.
Additional survivors include children, Carol Bennett of Ft. Wayne, David (Jan) Siener of Clarkston, Michigan, Mary Ann Howard of Franklin, Ohio, and Chris (Patty) Siener of Lafayette; grandchildren, Chris and Mike Howard, Brandon and Brett Bennett, and Matt, Thomas, Sara, Patrick, and Danika; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Barbara (Maurice) Diekhoff.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Siener was also preceded in death by siblings, Tom and Joe Siener and Claire (Frank) Laugh.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Bartholomew Catholic Church through the funeral home.
