Virginia "Ann" Wilking Maddox, 80, Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre

Virginia "Ann" Wilking Maddox, 80, of Madison died Monday, November 11, 2019, at 11:51 p.m. at Kindred Hospital in Indianapolis.

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 17, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Pastor Mike Straub will officiate. Interment will follow at Bayless Cemetery in Madison.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Saturday, November 16, 2019, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 17, 2019, from 12 noon until time of services.

Ms. Maddox retired from Reliance Electric Company after 35 years of service in assembly and production. She had also worked part time at Damon's and Hammond's Restaurants. Mrs. Maddox had attended St. John's United Church of Christ and was a member of the Madison VFW Post No. 1969 Auxiliary, Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Madison Moose Lodge No. 765. She enjoyed bingo, puzzles, her family, and working in the yard.

Born August 12, 1939, in Madison, Ms. Maddox was the daughter of Stayton Wilbur and Virginia Fern Stivers Wilking.

Survivors include a daughter, Debra Rowlett of Madison; sons, Gary (Melissa) Maddox of Madison and Aaron (Candie) Maddox of Dupont; grandchildren, Drenda Abbott, Mandy Tinker, Dakota, Tasha, Tiffany, Camron, and Cambria Maddox, and Devin and Danielle Williams; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers, Charles (Gail) Wilking of Ball, Louisiana, Larry (Kati) and Richard (Kathy) Wilking, both of Madison; and sisters, Brenda Wilking, Linda Fisher, and Mary Kay (Denny) Gosman, all of Madison.

Ms. Maddox was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Louis Maddox; sisters, Rose Jones and Frances Cherry; and brother, James Wilking.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
