Berl John "Bucky" Grant, 81, Voss & Sons Funeral Service

Berl John "Bucky" Grant, 81, of Seymour died Thursday, October 3, 2019, at his home.

Funeral Mass will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at 10 a.m. with Father Dan Staublin and Father Joseph Sheets officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Seymour. A Rosary service will be held Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the funeral home at 3:30 pm followed by visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friends and family may also call Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at the church from 9 a.m. until time of services.

Mr. Grant was a 1956 graduate of Logansport High School. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in industrial engineering in 1960 from Purdue University. After graduating, he worked for GM (Delco) as a field and sales engineer. Mr. Grant later earned a Master's Degree in industrial administration from Purdue University and his career took him to CTS Corporation in Elkhart where he became president of their metal products division. He had also been president and CEO of Seymour Manufacturing until retirement in 2012. Mr. Grant was also a pilot and loved flying, skiing, painting, rooting for the Boilermakers and the Fighting Irish. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, the Sorin Society, Freeman Field Flying Association, EAA, AOPA, the UFOs, Quiet Birdmen, and served on the board of the Freeman Army Airfield Museum.

Born in Logansport, Mr. Grant was the son of Berl E. and Theresa Gilsinger Grant. On June 26, 1965, he married Bridget E. Leigh and she preceded him in death.

Survivors include children, Zachary (Amanda) Grant and Bridget "Bridey" (Mark) Jacobi; grandchildren, Samantha and Alana Jacobi; and sister, Gloria Klein.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Grant was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Posthauer.

Memorials may be written to Freeman Army Airfield Museum or AOPA Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
