Phyllis Jean Caswell Burnette, 75, of Dupont died Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 10:43 a.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services were Monday, September 9, 2019, at Dupont Baptist Church in Dupont with Pastor A.J. Billings officiating. Interment followed at Dupont Cemetery. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison was entrusted with arrangements.
Mrs. Burnette was a homemaker and farm wife as well as a member of Dupont Baptist Church. She had also been employed at Jay's Market, Dave's Sureway, Walmart snack bar, Madison Care Center, and J&R Grocery. She enjoyed her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Burnette also enjoyed cooking meals, gardening, canning, and singing around the house.
Born February 5, 1944, in Manville, Mrs. Burnette was the daughter of Wilmer Glen and Opal Holland Meek Caswell. She married Thomas William Burnette February 21, 1961, in Bedford, Kentucky, and he survives.
Other survivors include sons, Donald (Darlene) Scholl of Trimble County, Kentucky, Gregg (Kelly Hunt) of Columbus, and Kevin (Tanya) Burnette of Dupont; daughter, Kim (Mark Hord) Huff of Madison; brother, Eugene (Sharon) Caswell of Hanover; sister, Ellen Lucas of Madison; grandchildren, Gretchen, Joel, Kayla, Ashley, Trey, Amber, Daymond, Corey, and Eliza; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Burnette was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ricky Caswell; and sister, Alice Griffin.
