Glendis Michael "Mike" Vest, 65, of Dupont died Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 4:31 a.m. at Baptist health-Floyd Hospital in New Albany.
Funeral services were Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison. Pastor Scott Kollmann officiated. Burial was at Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. A final salute with full military honors took place at the cemetery.
Mr. Vest was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked for Ritter Lanes Bowling Alley in Madison as well as Madison Precision. He then worked for many years as a supervisor at Cummins Engine Company, Inc.. Mr. Vest was a member of North Vernon Masonic Lodge and Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, bowling, and participating in Native American gatherings.
Born February 7, 1954, in Paris, Kentucky, Mr. Vest was the son of Lawrence M. and Vera Delores Fugate Vest. He married Teresa Lynn Anderson December 25, 1974, and she survives.
Other survivors include sons, Michael (Stacy) Anderson of North Vernon and Steven (Shannon) Vest of Madison; daughter, Jamie (James) Logsdon of Hanover; grandchildren, Shannon Anderson, and Jared and Gabrielle Vest, Christifer, Samantha, and Sheridan Lanham; two great-grandchildren; sisters, Teresa Vest and Lillian (Keith Burkhardt) Albert, both of Milton, Kentucky, and Velvet (Tony) Durbin of Sellersburg; brothers, Timothy (Dee) and Rocky (Angela) Vest, both of Madison and Wendell (Nina Lapine) and Woody Vest, both of Milton, Kentucky.
Mr. Vest was preceded in death by parents and brother, Charles Vest.
