Lynda M. Pettigrew, 76, of North Vernon died Monday, March 11, 2019, at her home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019, at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service.
Mrs. Pettigrew worked with her husband in the home construction business for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She volunteered at Jennings Villas children's home, with CASA, and at St. Vincent DePaul Store. Mrs. Pettigrew served on the Jennings County Board of Zoning and Appeals for many years. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau and enjoyed playing golf and bowling.
Born May 22, 1942, in Scipio, Mrs. Pettigrew was the daughter of Carl and Mary Waples Shinolt. She married Jack Pettigrew November 5, 1966 and he preceded her in death December 5, 2007.
Survivors include daughters, Carla Belding of Seymour, Lori Pettigrew and Mary E. (Rick) Melton Pettigrew, both of North Vernon, Pam (Tom) Locke of Cross Plains, and Becky (Allen) Burton of Edinburgh; son, Terry Pettigrew of North Vernon; brothers, Doc Shinolt of Butlerville and Larry Shinolt of Scipio; grandchildren, Lyndsay Kelley and Jacob Patterson; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Pettigrew was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandson, Damon Barrett.
