James T. "Jim" Cummings, 92 of Seymour died Sunday, August 5, 2018, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour.
Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Judd officiating. Burial will follow at White's Chapel Cemetery with full military graveside rites. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday, August 7, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of services.
Mr. Cummings was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WW II. He was a retired Agriculture teacher who taught at Cowan High School, Whiteland High School, and finally Central 9 Vocational School. Mr. Cummings was a 4H Leader, FFA Advisor, and a member of Brownstown Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and White's Chapel Church.
Mr. Cummings was born in Cortland November 9, 1925, the son of James E. and Elise Marie Gremaud Cummings. On June 15, 1951, at Cowan Christian Church in Cowan, he married Lois P. Heath and she survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include son, Dr. Donald (Barb) Cummings; grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Hoene and Jill (Kyle) Halterman; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Dr. George Cummings.
Mr. Cummings was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Marie Marshall, Ruby Kator, and Lorraine Grant.
