Larry E. Adams, 71 was music aficionado
Larry E. Adams, 71, of Whiting, died at his son's home in Crothersville Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:55 p.m.
Funeral services were at Fife Funeral Home in East Chicago Wednesday, July 11, 2018 with burial following at Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Adams had been assistant manager at the old JJ Newberry's in Whiting and later worked in the computer room and as a foreman at Youngstown Sheet and Tube, Youngstown Steel, and McLaughlin Steel LTV Steel. Mr. Adams was had most recently been employed at the casino in security. He was an avid pool player, Harley rider, music aficionado, sports enthusiast, guitar player, and social butterfly, who enjoyed time with family and friends. He also enjoyed bowling, golfing, and coaching, watching, and encouraging his children's sports team. Mr. Adams was a member of First Church of Christ in Whiting where he also served as an elder, Sunday School teacher, and treasurer as well as filling in at the pulpit.
Born in Sullivan, Indiana on April 3, 1947, Mr. Adams was the son of Marjorie Plummer and Kenneth Adams. He married Carol Walters.
Survivors include children, Michael E. Adams (Tory Kennedy) of Dunedin, Florida, Mark E. (Leslie) Adams of Crothersville, and Buffy (Krista) Carlson-Adams of Crown Point; grandchildren, Conner, Parker, Harper, and Tucker Adams, all of Crothersville; sister, Linda (Patrick) Kendall of Jasper.
