Lindburgh Couch, 82, had worked 36 years at Grote
Lindburgh "Elmer" Couch, 82, of Deputy died Monday, July 2, 2018, at 2:37 p.m. at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg.
Funeral services were Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Pastor Michael Cammack officiating. Interment followed at Grandview Memorial Gardens near Madison.
Mr. Couch had worked at Grote Industries as a foreman and setup man, retiring after 36 years of service. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, and taking care of bees with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed restoring Victrola record players. Mr. Couch attended Church of God.
Born March 7, 1936, in Lesley County, Kentucky, Mr. Couch was the son of Ed and Bertha Pennington Couch. He married Shirley Williams in Jonesville, West Virginia July 27, 1957, and she survives.
Other survivors include daughters, Henerietta (Jerry) Faris and Barb (Rob) Sims, both of Hanover, and Carolyn (Ken) Salkeld of Lexington, and Sharon Lucas of Harrisburg, Kentucky; sons, Raymond (Lisa) and Kenny (Rhonda) Pennington, both of Canaan and Lynn (Michele) Pennington of Lexington; grandchildren, Melissa, Brandon, Bryan, Jessica, Chad, Laura, Danni, Christina, Shaun, Seth, Lucas, Zach, Paige, Andrew, Bradley, Samara, Andy, and Angel; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Gaylean Morris of Canaan.
Mr. Couch was preceded in death by parents; granddaughter, Savannah Scott; and brothers, Nathan and James Lee Pennington.
