Jerry N. Harper, 72, of Columbus died at 1:42 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at Greenwood Health Care in Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, 2018, at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus with Pastor Jonathon Elliott officiating.
Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. to time of services Thursday, June 14, 2018, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Hawcreek Cemetery in Hope with military honors presented by the Bartholomew County Veterans Honor Guard.
Mr. Harper retired from Cummins Engine Company and then spent several years working at Ace Welding. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a former member of the Columbus Corvette Club.
Born October 27, 1945 in Edmonton, Kentucky, Mr. Harper was the son of Guy and Mildred Caffee Harper.
Survivors include his children, April (Don) Hess of North Vernon and Trent (Kim) Harper of Columbus; his companion, Marjorie Jones of Columbus; grandchildren, Amber Graves, Lacey (Travis) Close, Brandon (Rachael) Harper, Cortlin (Rosie) and Alexander Hess, and Taylor (Chase) Rouse; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Karen (Merle) Livesay of Columbus; and brother, Keith (Sharon) Harper of Muncie.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Edward Harper.
