Terry Ray Hendrix, 68, of Scipio died at 2:20 a.m. Sunday, May 13, 2018, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services on Friday, May 18, 2018. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison.
Mr. Hendrix graduated from North Central High School in 1968 and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps having served in Vietnam. He retired in 2002 from J.T. Thorpe as a brick layer. Throughout his life, he enjoyed working on many types of race cars and spending time at the races.
Born May 13, 1950, in Bloomington, Mr. Hendrix was the son of Thomas E. Hendrix and Patricia Hazel Sink. He married Nancy June Stough September 26, 1970 and she survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother of Brazil; daughter, Brenda (Norman) Hendrix of Scipio; son, Danny (Lori) Hendrix of Utah; brothers, Dean, Tommy, and Jimmy Hendrix, and Ricky Sink; sisters, Susie Hendrix, Jewel Gordon, and Beverly Pendleton; grandchildren, Derrick Koger, Brandi Kerly, and Devon, Casey, Wyatt and Kobly Hendrix; and a great-grandchild.
Mr. Hendrix was preceded in death by his father and a brother, William Sink.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the family for expenses.
