Lena R. Loper, 95, did her part in the war effort
Lena R. Loper, 95, of Franklin, formerly of Seymour, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at the Indiana Masonic Home in Franklin.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home Tuesday, May 15, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday, May 16, 2018, after 9:30 a.m. until time of services. Rev. Jerry Van Kuiken will officiate. Burial will be at White's Chapel Cemetery.
Mrs. Loper was a member of Spraytown Free Methodist Church. During WW II, she was a welder in a defense factory. Mrs. Loper enjoyed traveling, quilting, and animals, especially dogs and birds.
Born July 30, 1922, in Granger County, Tennessee, Mrs. Loper was the daughter of Charlie Johnson Parker and Gertrude Ester Miller Parker. In 1942 she married Forrest Loper in West Palm, Florida.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Richard A. Bevers; nephews, David (Kay) Rose, and William and Randy Loper; and niece, Vicki Fuller
Mrs. Loper was proceeded in death by her parents; husband; daughter: Beverly Ruth Bevers; brothers, Joe, Johnny, William, and Herman; and sister,: Ome, Bertha, and Della.
Memorials may be designated to Spraytown Free Methodist Church or White's Chapel Cemetery fund.
