John Ernest Fair, 56 was well known for love of baseball, umpiring
John Ernest Fair, 56, of North Vernon died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 12, 2018, from 4 until 7 p.m. at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Mr. Fair was a graduate of Jennings County High School and worked as an umpire for 30 plus years at the North Vernon City Park. He also did some high school and college umpiring. Mr. Fair had been employed at Martinrea International, Inc. He enjoyed watching sports, watching his sons play video games, listening to music, and he loved his dogs and taking them for walks.
Born October 20, 1961, in Seymour, Mr. Fair was the son of John R. and Margie Carpenter Fair.
Survivors include his sons, John Dawson Fair of Fort Wayne and Raymond Fair of North Vernon; former wife, Tammy Fair of North Vernon; and a sister, Vicki (Jay) Fisher Lerer of Santa Monica, California.
Mr. Fair was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the North Vernon Parks Baseball Program.
