Maxine Foster turned a handicap into an asset
Maxine Foster, 89, of Cape Coral, Florida, formerly of Holton, died Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida.
Graveside rites were at Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles was entrusted with arrangements.
Miss Foster attended the Kentucky School for the Deaf in Danville, Kentucky. She learned sign language and was able to communicate with her friends and family, turning her handicap into an asset. Miss Foster was an avid follower of the Cincinnati Reds and watched every game she could. She was a member of the Bridgetown Church of Christ.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, May 12, 1928, Miss Foster was the daughter of William Eb and Lou Burton Foster.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Miss Foster was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Samuel and William A. Foster; and sisters, Alma Kennedy, Pearlie Allee, Hattie Cowan, and Annie Burton.
Memorials may be given to the Cliff Hill Cemetery or the donor's choice c/o the funeral home.
