Violet Marie Phillips, 73, of North Vernon died Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.
Funeral services were Monday, March 12, 2018, at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Don Morris officiating. Burial was at the Dupont Cemetery in Dupont.
Mrs. Phillips worked the assembly line for Arvin Industries for 25 years retiring in 1997. She was a former member of Vernon Baptist Church in Vernon and enjoyed donating to the Girls and Boys Club, Our Hospice, going to casinos, traveling, and going out to eat. She also loved spending time with her family.
Born April 25, 1944, in Springfield, Ohio, Mrs. Phillips was the daughter of John Henry and Mildred Riley Worthington. She married George Nicholas Phillips June 14, 1975, in Vandalia, Ohio. He preceded her in death on October 28, 2002.
Survivors include a son, Stanley H. (Penny) Bixler of North Vernon; brothers, Gene (Eileen) Acles of Dayton, Ohio, Jack (Wanda) Acles of Indianapolis, and Melvin Acles of Lady Lake, Florida; sisters, Norma (John) Schultz of Port St. Lucie, Florida and Phyllis Barrows of Midway, Ohio; and grandchildren, Joshua and Stanley E. Bixler, both of North Vernon.
Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Keith Acles; and sister, Eleanor Foreman.
