Jacqueline Fletcher Allen, 88, of Seymour
Jacqueline "Jackie" Fletcher Allen, 88, of Seymour died Friday, February 9, 2018, at Seymour Crossing in Seymour.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 2100 Highway 150, Floyd Knobs, from 5 to 8 p.m. Burial will be Friday, February 16, 2018, at 2:30 p.m. at Indiana Veterans Memo-rial Cemetery in Madison with Rev. Tony Alstott officiating. Arrangements were handled by Voss & Sons Funeral Services.
Mrs. Allen graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas with a Master's Degree in Education and retired after many years of service with the Natchez School Systems. She was a member of the University Cowboy Band where she was honored to be chosen to ride one of the white horses. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Who's Who in American College and Universities, Cowgirls Garden Club and Natchez Garden Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Mrs. Allen was born January 27, 1930 in Wichita Falls, Texas, the daughter of Jack Bowen Fletcher and Bertha Hays Fletcher. On December 17, 1950, she married Brooks Allen in Abilene Texas at the University Baptist Church. He preceded her in death May 31, 2009.
Survivors include her children, Angela (George) Scheirmann, Tracy (Shannon) Allen, and Leslie Abbott; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by a brother John Robin Fletcher and a sister Frances Hodges
