Marilyn Mae Elkins, 79, of Seymour died Monday, January 8, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Greenwood.
Funeral services will be conducted at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour Friday, January 12, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Father Dan Staublin officiating assisted by Deacon Mike East. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. and Friday, January 12, 2018, at 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. A Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018, at the funeral home. Arrangements were made through Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour.
Mrs. Elkins worked as a medical assistant for many years. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and spending time with family. She was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour.
Born March 2, 1938, in Harrison, Ohio, Mrs. Elkins was the daughter of Fred and Pauline Amos Klakamp. She married Roy Elkins August 18, 1956, and he survives.
In addition to her husband, survivors include children, Joe (Lindsey) Elkins and Darrin (Missy) Elkins; grandchildren, Melissa, Maddie, and Kyle (Tessa) Elkins, Jade Catterton, Mike (Jessica) Schroer, and Niki (Josh) Campbell; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Susie and Roseanne Klakamp.
Mrs. Elkins was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melanie Schroer; and sister, Cathy Dampier.
