Larry Bruce Grimmet, Sr., 67, Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre

Larry B. Grimmet, Sr. had worked at Lowe's

Larry Bruce Grimmet, Sr., 67, of Madison died Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 8:08 p.m. at Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Pastor Skip Napier officiating. Interment will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison. Friends may visit Wednesday, January 10, 2018, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday, January 11, 2018, from 9 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Final salute by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion with full military honors will be Thursday, January 11, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Grimmet was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and earned an Associate Degree in accounting from Miami University. He had worked as a radio personality and program director throughout the country. He was assistant store manager at Lowe's for 20 years starting at the RDC in North Vernon and retired from the Madison Store. Mr. Grimmet was a member of the Madison VFW Post 1969 and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed working in the yard, salmon fishing, and camping. He was a Green Bay Packer fan.

Born August 26, 1950, in Frankfort, Kentucky, Mr. Grimmet was the son of A.J. and Lois Carter Grimmet. He married Lesia Yount February 26, 1977,in Madison and she survives.

Other survivors include his mother; daughters, Kharon Grimmet of West Lafayette and Annette (Jason) Peterson of Plainfield; son, Larry "Bruce" Grimmet, Jr. of Billings, Montana; sister, Raven (Gus) Woods of Loveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Faith, Zeke, Carter, Joy, Providence, Evie, and Corban Grimmet and Alexa and Isaiah Peterson; and sisters, Marta (John) Smith and Beth and Ginny Yount, all of Madison, and Linda (Walter) Ededuwa of Indianapolis.

Mr. Grimmet was preceded in death by his father.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wreaths Across America through the funeral home.
