Melvin T. McCullough, 89, Voss and Sons Funeral Service

Melvin T. McCullough had been an engineer

Melvin T. McCullough, 89, of Seymour died Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11:15 a.m.

Funeral services will be at Voss and Sons Funeral Service in Seymour Friday, April 21, 2017, at 10 a.m. with Bishop Doyle Myers officiating. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by the VFW Post #1925, American Legion Post #89, DAV #47, Korean Veterans and Vietnam Veterans #7, all of Seymour. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday, April 20, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, April 21, 2017, after 9 a.m. until the time of the services.

Mr. McCullough was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in North Vernon. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a Central Office Engineer at the telephone company for over 20 years. Mr. McCullough owned a grocery store in Cortland from 1961-1965.

Mr. McCullough was born in Westport April 1, 1928, the son of Roland and Hazel Campbell McCullough. On June 19, 1965 in Seymour, he married Tillie Faye Campbell who preceded him in death on August 14, 2003. He then married Dottie Kidd of Seymour and she survives.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter; Bonnita (Gary) Graves; step-children, Linda Bevers, Patricia (Danny) Sutton, Bonnie (Joe) Bowley, Richard (Billie) McKinney, Gary (Tina), Harold, Michael, and John Eisenmenger, Tammy Downs, Luana Piercefield; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren; and a sister, Sally (Ervin) Caldwell.

Mr. McCullough was preceded in death by his parents; previous wife, Tillie; son, Edward McCullough; and sister, Leota Jayne.

Memorial checks to Community Provisions in care of the funeral home.
