Jon Hooten, 51, enjoyed life's simple pleasures
Jon "Hootie" Hooten, 51, of Greensburg died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his residence.
A visitation for family and friends was held Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Greensburg with the Rev. Susan Bunting officiating.
Mr. Hooten was a 1980 graduate of Greensburg High School. He was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He worked at Frisch's as the kitchen manager for 10 years. Mr. Hooten enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching the Colts play, and hanging out with his friends.
Born September 18, 1962, in Greensburg, Mr. Hooten was the son of Nancy Wilhoit and Merlyn Hooten.
Survivors include his father of Columbiana, Alabama; daughters, Jamie (Jerry) Balser of Elizabethtown, Kayla Hooten of Sandusky, and Jessica Hooten of Greensburg; companion, Evan Kirchner of Greensburg; siblings, Diana (Mark) Scudder of Greensburg, Rick (Rose) Hooten of Osgood, Bob Hooten of Greensburg, Terry Reach of Alabama, and Robin Meyers; grandchildren, Taylor, Olivia, Abigail and Allison Balser, Joe Catron and Kendall Moore.
Mr. Hooten was preceded in death by his mother and a granddaughter, Allexus Hooten.
