Mollie J. Perkins, 90, is interred at Bear Creek
Mollie J. Perkins, 90, of Grammer died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Funeral services were Monday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with the Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Burial will be at Bear Creek Cemetery.
Before retirement, Mrs. Perkins was employed at Rockcreek School and Headstart as a cook. She was a member of Grammer Presbyterian Church and Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed bingo, working on jigsaw puzzles, playing cards and watching birds.
Born January 26, 1924, in Decatur County, Mrs. Perkins was the daughter of Flavis and Mary Mabel Van Scyoc Tempest. She married Doris "Bill" Perkins August 14, 1944, and he preceded her in death February 15, 1995.
Survivors include children, Evelyn Kay Prewitt of Lexington, Billy Dee Perkins of Grammer, and Roxanna Lee (John) Hamilton of Scipio; grandchildren, Dawn, Eric, Sharon, Lisa, Neal, Billy, Mike, Steve, Erica and Jason; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Derek, Ethan, Eric Scott, Sarah, Laura, Samantha, Rachel, Hannah, Nicholas, Michael, Lucas, Jacob, Tyler, Travis, Jalee, Rella, Nicole, Andrea, Garrett, Alivia, Kole and Arielle; 16 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Larry (Linda) Tempest of Florida, John (Jean) Tempest of Florida, and Edgerton (Ruthanna) Tempest of Burnsville.
Mrs. Perkins was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Mary Ellen Pottebaum; brothers, Fred and Billy Franklin Tempest; and great-grandson, Joseph Daniel Hamilton.
