Edward Wayne Elliott drove a truck 30 years
Edward Wayne Elliott, 67, of North Vernon died at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Father Doug Marcotte officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Maryís Catholic Cemetery in Greensburg. A time of visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Elliott, a U.S. Army veteran, had lived most of his life in Decatur and Jennings counties and had been a resident at Country Squire Lakes for the past ten years. He has been a truck driver for over 30 years and owned and operated his own truck and last drove for Truck One. Mr. Elliott was a member of the American Legion Post # 339, Eagles Lodge # 927 and the Moose Lodge # 2203 all in Greensburg. He enjoyed fishing and going to auctions and flea markets.
Born December 24, 1946 in Letts, Mr. Elliott was the son of Samuel D. and Mary Baldwin Elliott. He married Dorene Tungate in Galveston, Texas on March 20, 1998 and she survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include a daughter, Michelle Renee (Trey) Goins of Greenwood; sons, Edward Philip Elliott of Columbus, Jason (Renee)and Chad Clarkson, both of North Vernon; sister, Martha Jane Weintraut of Shelbyville; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Crystal Stuehrenberg; and a brother, Paul Elliott.
Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Hospice of Seymour.
