Melody Ann Griffith, 54 led DSI work in Jennings
Melody Ann Griffith, 54, of North Vernon died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014 at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Wednesday. Burial will be in the Hayden Cemetery.
Mrs. Griffith worked as the Program Coordinator and County Manager for Developmental Services in Scipio. She enjoyed reading, fishing, riding in convertibles, having cookouts, bonfires and family get-togethers.
Born January 11, 1960, in Seymour, Mrs. Griffith was the daughter of Betty Waltermire Wilder and the late Fred Wilder. She married Wayne Griffith on January 18, 1976 in Jennings County. He survives.
Other survivors include a son, Quincy (Jackie) Griffith of North Vernon; two daughters, Nancy Griffith of North Vernon and Elizabeth Gomez of Columbus; step-children, Wayne Griffith, Jr. of Bowling Green, Kentucky and Wanda (Bradley) Lamb of Deputy; brother, Donnie (Cathy) Foddrill of Lovett; sister, Betty Dewitt of North Vernon; several half and step-sisters; 17 grandchildren, Samantha Griffith of Seymour, Tamara Huddleston, Bradley Jr., Kayla, Alexander, and Makenzie Lamb, all of Deputy, Anthony, Cody and Mason Griffith, all of Hayden, Britney and Blake Griffith, both of North Vernon, Amber Griffith of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Kailey Griffith, Alejandra, Jesus, Daniel, and Luis Ovalle, all of Columbus; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father; a grandson, Tristen Griffith; and a sister, Donna Foddrill.
