Juanita H. Pitts, 90, a homemaker and farmer

Juanita H. Pitts, 90, of North Vernon died at 11:16 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery.

Mrs. Pitts was a homemaker and farmer for most of her life. She worked at the White Front Restaurant in North Vernon for four years, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Pitts was a member of the Rush Branch United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting, embroidering, sewing, cooking, baking, crafts, flowers, and gardening.

Born February 27, 1924, in Hazard, Kentucky, Mrs. Pitts was the daughter of Pryse and Hettie Warner Horn. She married Paul Anderson Pitts on January 8, 1945 in Old Landing, Kentucky. He preceded her in death July 28, 1970.

Survivors include a son, Paul David Pitts of North Vernon; daughters, Rhonda (James) Vincent of San Jacinto and Wanda Carol (Bill) Bonner of Miamisburg, Ohio; brother, Shelby (Kay) Horn of Campbellsburg, Kentucky; sisters, Mavis Johnson, Cleta Daws and Virginia Tipton, all of Dayton, Ohio, Eva (Charles) Moore of Richmond, Kentucky, Agnes Caldwell of Michigan, and Emma Stauffer of Beaver Creek, Ohio; grandchildren, Lori (Scott) Goerndt of Miamisburg, Ohio, Lenita Vincent of Columbus, Ohio, Cheryl (David) Wallace of Butlerville, and Paula (Shawn) Moore of Commiskey; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sister, Audrey Smith; and brothers, Vernon and Douglas Horn.

Memorial donations through the funeral home to the Rush Branch Methodist Church.
