WW II vet Earl Wayne Murray ran own business
Earl Wayne Murray, 88, of Seymour and formerly of rural Crothersville, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2014.
Pastor Bill Requardt and Doug Brougher conducted funeral services Tuesday at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville.
Mr. Murray was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II where he served in Japan. He graduated from Chester Center High School and was a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion. Mr. Murray was a construction contractor from 1963 to1970 and owned Crothersville Supply from 1964 until 2010. He also owned Regal Industries Inc., which has grown regionally throughout the years.
Born April 24, 1925 in Wells County, Mr. Murray was the son of Clell and Nellie (Harris) Murray. On June 26, 1970, in Madison, he married Ruth Windburn who survives at Covered Bridge Health Campus.
Other survivors include a daughter, Sue Henry of Crothersville; three step-children, Peggy Davidson of Seymour, Robert (Sue) Spicer and Alice Brock, both of Crothersville; brothers, Bob (Liz) and Donnie (Pat) Murray, both of Hartford City; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Timothy Lee Murray; two sisters, Chrystal Miller and Helen Bryan; and brother, Ned Murray.
