Daisy Pearl O. Richards memorialized on Sunday
Daisy Pearl Owens "Miss Daisy" Richards, 80, of Hanover, died Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at 6:51 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services were Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Rev. Dennis Bickers officiating. Burial was at Springdale Cemetery in Madison.
Mrs. Richards had been a medical assistant at the Madison State Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion, Jefferson Post No. 9 Auxiliary, the Jefferson County Goodwill Conservation Club, past member of the Madison Eagles Lodge and the Madison VFW Post 1969 Auxiliary. Mrs. Richards enjoyed reading, gardening, dancing, crocheting, and was a seamstress.
Born September 1, 1933, in Madison, Mrs. Richards was the daughter of William Benjamin Henry Harrison Owens and Martha Pearl Crafton Owens. She married Henry Richards on December 9, 1950, in Madison. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2007.
Survivors include daughters, Sharon (Dale) Weiser of Columbus, Ohio, Regenia (Edward) Clark of Cadiz, Kentucky, and Pamela H. (Steven) Hale and Cynthia Ann (Robert) Bird, all of Madison; grandchildren, Shawn Patrick and Clinton Elliot Fields, Amanda Marie Hale Gourley, Michael Christopher Wilson, and Michelle Elizabeth Weiser; and great-grandchildren, Gavin Henry Thomas Gourley and Brandt Henry Wilson.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Richards was preceded in death by a daughter, Joy Elaine Fields; son, Terrance Richards; brothers, Harry, Rolla, Elmer, and Eddie Owens, and William and Wesley Thomas; and sister, Emma Owens Drabb.
