Robert E. Zilliox, 87, was retiree of Hanover College
Robert E. "Bob" Zilliox, 87, of Madison died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at Brown Chapel at Hanover College at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Zilliox received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Wichita State University and his Master of Library Science from Kansas State Teacher College. He taught high school band and was a high school librarian in Kansas before moving to Hanover in 1969 to become reference librarian at Hanover College Duggan Library where he also served as archivist. Mr. Zilliox retired from Hanover in August 1989. He enjoyed flying and had built several airplanes. He was a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and had served as vice president of the Society of Indiana Archivists. Mr. Zilliox enjoyed cooking and baking.
Born January 27, 1927, in Hume, Missouri, Mr. Zilliox was the son of Robert L. and Leila Nall Zilliox. He married Bonnie Paisley August 2, 1952.
Survivors include a sister, Betty Hunter of Lenexa, Kansas.
Preceding Mr. Zilliox in death were his parents; sister, Helen; and a son, Andrew.
