Violet M. Tichenor, 66, of W'port was a homemaker
Violet M. Tichenor, 66, of Westport died at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Columbus Regional Hospital.
Funeral services were Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home in Columbus with Pastor Damon Spurgeon officiating. Burial was at Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus.
Mrs. Tichenor was a homemaker and a member of First Church of The Nazarene. She loved children and had been a foster parent for many years. She loved helping her grandchildren with their homework and also enjoyed, cooking, Christian music, crafts, camping, fishing, shopping, family gatherings during the holidays and was a Tony Stewart fan.
Born in Columbus on January 31, 1948, Mrs. Tichenor was the daughter of Paul F. and Edna Lucille Cohee Henderson. She married Marshall L. Tichenor January 14, 1967 and he survives.
In addition to her husband, survivors include daughters, Starranne Shuler and Denise (Greg) Eubanks, both of Westport; a son, Greg Alan Tichenor of Westport; a brother, Mark Henderson of Hope; sisters, Lena Powell of Columbus and Esther (Dan) Dutro of Clifford; grandchildren, Isaiah and Eli Eubanks, and Tim (Crystal), Nicole and Levi Shuler; great-granddaughter, Jody Lynn Shuler; and a step-granddaughter, Tara Hempstead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Paul Dallas Henderson; a daughter, Alycia Fay Tichenor; and a grandson, Preston Tichenor.
