Jerry Michael Growe, 58 enjoyed the great outdoors
Jerry Michael "Dutch" Growe, 58, of Seymour died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.
Memorial graveside services will be held at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Madison Wednesday at 2 p.m. All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral Service and Tri-County Crematory in Seymour.
Mr. Growe was a 1973 graduate of Seymour High School and a U.S. Navy veteran who served from 1973 to 1987. He was a military aircraft mechanic. Mr. Growe was a member of Rockford United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his scooter with his dog in the basket. Mr. Growe was a lifetime member of the VFW Post # 1925, American Legion Post # 89, North American Hunting Club, and Ducks Unlimited.
Born June 22, 1955 in Seymour, Mr. Growe was the son of Marshall Growe and Jean Rogers Thompson.
Survivors include his mother; the mother of his children, Peg Mellenbruch; children, Angela (John) Mathews, and Michael (Jennifer) and Alana Growe; grandchildren, Cody, Arrin and Mattheu Mathews and Brayden and Lilah Growe; brother Richard (Kathy) Growe; half-brother, Robert Jenkins; and half-sister, Billie Jean (Patrick) Ritchie.
He was preceded in death by his father.
