Anna M. McCullough, 84

Anna M. McCullough, 84 gave back to her community

Anna M. McCullough, 84, of Greensburg died Wednesday, February 12, 2014 at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg. Funeral services were Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. John Meyer officiating. Interment was at Westport Cemetery.

Mrs. McCullough was a graduate of the Lehmann School in the Westport area. She retired from Muscatatuck State Hospital after 19 years of service. She was a member of St. Maryís Catholic Church and the St. Lawrence Ladies Auxiliary as well as a former member of Tree County Players. Mrs. McCullough was actively involved in Relay for Life in Decatur County.

Born Dec. 14, 1929 in Decatur County, Mrs. McCullough was the daughter of Harry J. and Mary C. Hessler Dwenger. She married John David McCullough August 16, 1952 at the St. Denis Catholic Church, and he preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1969.

Survivors include children, Donna (Terry) Swinford, Margaret (George Rohrig) Derflinger, David McCullough, Sharon Drake, Simon Harry (Mary) McCullough, all of Greensburg; Patty (Mark) Carson of Osgood, Beverly (Bill) Maggard of Millhousen, Carolyn Richards of Napoleon, Ruth (George) Griffith of Osgood, William (Debbie) McCullough of Lebanon and Glen (Angie) McCullough of Westport; brother, Edward (Brenda) Dwenger of Greensburg; sister, Ruth E. Hamilton of Millhousen; 50 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Leonard and Dick Dwenger; sisters, Mary Ellen Veerkamp, Esther Martin, Kathleen Scheidler, Betty Harris, and Rose C. Powers; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Relay for Life or to the Covenant House in New York through the funeral home.
