Edward Lavern Maupin was born and lived on family farm whole life
Edward Lavern "Vern" Maupin, 87, of Commiskey died at 4:45 a.m. Sunday, February 9, 2014 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Irmal Elliott officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 12 noon until time of service. Burial will be in the Dupont Cemetery.
Mr. Maupin was born and lived on the same farm his entire life. He was a former member of the Commiskey Baptist Church and a current member of Coffee Creek Baptist Church. He enjoyed being with his family, gardening, flowers, his church and his church family, his dog, and telling stories about farming with horses when he was a young man.
Born January 25, 1927 in Commiskey, Mr. Maupin was the son of Frank T. Maupin and Lura Alice Cain Maupin.
Survivors include his sister Margaret (John) Hendricks of Commiskey; brother, Gilbert (Judy) Maupin of Commiskey; nephew, Charles William (Paula) Maupin of Westport; and nieces Sandra Claghorn of Chesterfield and Roberta Jo Riddhatni of Newburg.
Mr. Maupin was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Maupin.
