Lyle Vernerd Jenkins, Jr. a native of West Virginia
Lyle Vernerd Jenkins, Jr., 78, of Bright died Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 12 noon at his residence.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Rev. Chad Chamness officiating. Calling will be Friday from 11 a.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery in Deputy.
Mr. Jenkins was a U.S. Army veteran and a 1955 graduate of Logan High School in West Virginia. He retired from Engineering and Design Service in Lawrenceburg, a company he had owned for 20 years. Mr. Jenkins was a member of the Logan United Methodist Church and the VFW of Cleves, Ohio. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and animals.
Born November 24, 1935 in Logan, West Virginia, Mr. Jenkins was the son of Lyle Vernerd Sr. and Madeleine Jenkins. He married Shirley Ellen Phillips on March 19, 1982 in Cincinnati, Ohio and she survives.
In addition to his wife, survivors include sons, Lyle V. Jenkins III or Orlando, Florida and Bradley (Cathy) Jenkins of Tampa, Florida; step-daughters, Monnie (Lane) Shoemaker of Tampa, Florida, Sheri Lee (Paul) Trapp of Hanover, Lori Ann Thomas of Trenton, Ohio and Janine Castle of West Harrison; stepson, Greg Savage of Vevay; his mother-in-law, Madie Phillips of Deputy; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert J. Jenkins of Raleigh, North Carolina.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Hart.
