Dorothy I. Ray Wingham, 87,

Dorothy J. R. Wingham lived for a time in Florida

Dorothy I. Ray Wingham, 87, of Madison died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 10:37 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.

Private services will be held. Interment will be at Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Wingham had been employed with the Clifty Falls Convalescent Center in Madison as a nurses aid. She had lived in Florida for 16 years and while she was there worked for South Florida Univer-sity Medical Center in the OB department. Mrs. Wingham was a member of the Union Grove Christian Church in Trimble County, Kentucky, Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion Auxiliary and Madison Moose Lodge No. 765. She enjoyed her grandchildren, crocheting, knitting, cooking, reading, electronic games and bluegrass music.

Mrs. Wingham was born March 4, 1926, in Galveston, Texas, the daughter of James and Irene Aintwright Ray. She married James Harold Wingham June 4, 1944 in Galveston, Texas. He preceded her in death August 27, 1971.

Survivors include sons Richard Steven (Patricia) Wingham of Jackson, Tennessee, Douglas Harold (Beverly) Wingham of Milton, Kentucky and Stanley Ray (Debbie) Wingham of Bedford, Kentucky; daughter, Trina McIntosh of Madison; sister, Estelle Walker of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Latisha, Kristy, Cara, Erin, Shannon, Tricia, Brittney, Jodi, Joshua and Jama; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Wingham was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Zaira Weaver; brothers, Joe, Jimmy, Chester and Charlie Ray; and sisters, Irene and Myrtle Ray.

The family requests memorials to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home.
