Delores M. Lindsey Jackson had life centered on church
Delores M. Lindsey Jackson, 82, Hanover, died Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 7:00 p.m.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hanover with Pastor Michael Johnson, Dr. Tim Jackson and Dr. Gary Jackson officiating. Burial will be at Sarasota Memorial Park in Sarasota, Florida.
Mrs. Jackson graduated from high school in Flint, Michigan. She enjoyed being a homemaker, Christian singer, reading her Bible, sewing, decorating, flowers, playing the piano and collecting hats. She was also an author. Mrs. Jackson was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Hanover and the Liberty Baptist Church in Sarasota, Florida where she had taught Sunday school for many years.
Born November 22, 1931 in Caldwell County, Missouri, Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of Golman and Ida Beth McGee Lindsey. She married Rev. Wray Ronald Jackson on July 16, 1949. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1997.
Survivors include a daughter, Missy (Pastor Michael) Johnson of Hanover; sons, Dr. Doug (Kathy) Jackson of Saginaw, Michigan, Dr. Tim (Wendy) Jackson of Lansing, Michigan and Dr. Gary (Martha) Jackson and Pastor Dan (Kathie) Jackson, all of Sarasota, Florida; 25 grandchildren, Aaron and Tina Wilson, Daniel and Trina Bonner, Jeremy and Dana Coppock, Nathan, Clint, Denise, John, Keiki, Joseph, Ben, Melody, Brittany, Andrew and Kyla Jackson, Gus and Darcy Jaramillo, Josh and Carissa Hershberger, Michael Johnson, David Grant, Jr., and Patrick and Heather Rattigan.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jackson was preceded in death by a daughter, Tanya Grant and a grandson, Caleb Jackson.
