Deborah G. Smolarczyk was U.S. Marine veteran
Deborah Gay "Debbie" Smolarczyk, 44, of Madison died Monday, December 16, 2013, at 5:25 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services will be Friday at 7 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Rev. Ron Walker officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Full military honors will be Saturday at 11 a.m. by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel. Burial will be at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Miss Smolarczyk, a U.S. Marine veteran, was a 1988 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and was raised in the St. Mary's Catholic Church, now Prince of Peace Parish.She had been an airline mechanic for American West Airlines and had recently worked at Hilex Poly in North Vernon. She enjoyed knitting, animals, reading, going to the movies with her daughter and baking.
Born October 13, 1969 in Madison, Miss Smolarczyk was the daughter of John Smolarczyk and Dinah Handlon.
Survivors include her mother, Dinah (Jerry Beech) Handlon of Madison; father and stepmother, John (Mary) Smolarczyk of Madison; daughter, Tristyn Cheyne Smolarczyk of Madison; brothers, Aaron Smolarczyk of Madison and Jerry (Dianna) Smolarczyk of York, Virginia; paternal grandmother, Anelia Smolarczyk of Madison; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Handlon Jones of Madison; stepbrother, Jason (Natalie) Anderson of Baltimore, Maryland; and stepsister, Jennifer (James) Munsey of Tawson, Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Stanislaw Smolarczyk and maternal grandfather, Kenneth Handlon.
