Francis L.N. Ferguson was a native of Kent.
Francis Lorene Nugent Ferguson, 73, of Madison, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at 3:50 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Pastor Mark Lee officiating. Calling will be Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at Olive Branch Cemetery near Madison.
Mrs. Ferguson was a 1959 graduate of Madison High School and worked at Conn Organ Company in Madison until it closed. She then attended Ivy Tech in Madison where she received her degree as a certified medical assistant and retired after 20 years of service with the Madison Clinic. Mrs. Ferguson was a member of the Brooksburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, collecting Christmas items and special noise makers.
Born December 17, 1939 in Hardin County, Kentucky, Mrs. Ferguson was the daughter of Benjamin Edward and Julia Mae Spinks Nugent. She married Elmer Alan Ferguson on September 1, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Madison. He preceded her in death on September 22, 2013.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana Ferguson of Madison; sons, Elliott (Tina) and Warren (Patty) Ferguson, all of Madison; grandchildren, Brandi (Alan) Bivens, Joseph (Sarah), Nathan (Ashley), and Joshua (fiance Kayla) Ferguson; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Brianna, Trenton, Abby, Colt, Kaytlynn and Chloe; two sisters, Lillian (Jim) Voris and Patricia Hall, all of Madison; and two brothers, Billie Nugent of Jeffersonville and Estil (Sue) Nugent of Charlestown.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by brothers, William Cecil, Ernest and James Nugent; and sisters, Virginia Stillwell and Ethel Shelton.
