Kenneth Herzog, 74, a former resident of JC
Kenneth "Dutch" Herzog, 74, of Henderson, Kentucky and formerly of North Vernon, died 10 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center in Evansville.
A celebration of his life will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home, 604 Center St., Henderson, Kentucky. Gary Puryear will officiate. Full military rites will be performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Mr. Herzog had been a fireman in Louisville, Kentucky, managed a dry cleaners and restaurant, was a Hudepohl beer distributor, a car salesman, Job Corps kitchen supervisor, and a salesman for Pittsburg Tank and Tower before retiring. He was a member of the Henderson Moose Lodge, a noted cartoonist, and an avid golfer and jitterbug dancer.
Born February 19, 1939 in Henderson, Kentucky, Mr. Herzog was the son of Charles Earl and Doris Mae Cross Herzog.
Survivors include three daughters, Donna Herzog of Henderson, Kentucky, Shari Cown and Teri Dailey, both of Atlanta, Georgia; son, Kenny Herzog of Millington, Tennessee; brother, Terry Herzog of Henderson, Kentucky; caretaker, Marsha Gayle Herzog of Henderson, Kentucky; one stepdaughter, Mara Beth Cravens; one stepson, Tommy Fowler; eight grandchildren; two step-grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mr. Herzog was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Karen Jung.
