Dennis William Simpson, 46 a heavy equipment operator
Dennis William Simpson, 46, of Columbus died at 4 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Vernon Cemetery.
Mr. Simpson worked as a heavy equipment operator for Dave OíMara in North Vernon for 16 years and had previously worked for Brooks & Earl Construction for 10 years. He was a 1985 graduate of Jennings County High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Vernon. He also was a member of the Operators Union in Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Simpson enjoyed riding Razors, hunting, fishing and dogs.
Born January 21, 1967 in Seymour, Mr. Simpson was the son of John and Martha Pettigrew Simpson.
Survivors include his son, Devon Simpson of Columbus; mother, Martha Simpson of North Vernon; three brotherz, John (Mary) Simpson of North Vernon, David (LaDonna) Simpson of Commiskey, and Darrell (Reina) Simpson of Columbus; and sister, Gloria (Matt) Skinner of Columbus.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Simpson.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the family for expenses.
