Beth Elaine Smith, 73, of Scipio grew up in Arizona
Beth Elaine Smith, 73, of Scipio died at 5:23 p.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the home of her daughter in Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services with the Rev. Robert Lay officiating. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, gardening, reading and traveling. She was a 1957 graduate of Prescott High School in Prescott, Arizona and was a former 20-year member at the House of Prayer in Elizabethtown.
Born November 22, 1939 in Rocky River, Ohio, Mrs. Smith was the daughter of George C. and Grace J. Sorensen Jones. She married Rev. Kenneth J. Smith, Sr. on December 8, 1957 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Kenneth (Vickie) Smith, Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida; two daughters, Jessica (Dale) Corum of Louisville, Kentucky and Desireeí (Mike) Bennett of St. Louis, Missouri; sister, Sharon Louise (Bailne) Davis of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Shelby Corum of LaGrange, Kentucky, David Hockenbury of Louisville, Kentucky, Tripp Corum of Atlanta, Georgia, Kara Hockenbury of Louisville, Kentucky, Dylan Smith and Grace Roggeí-Smith, both of Jacksonville, Florida and Maddie and Nate Bennett both of St. Charles, Missouri; and two great-grandchildren, Mikya and Jayden Corum, both of LaGrange, Kentucky.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
