Larry Wayne Dunlap, 66 had wide ranging interests
Larry Wayne "Bubba" Dunlap, 66, of Madison died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:25 p.m. at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison.
Funeral services were Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre in Madison with Pastor Frank McGee officiating. A final salute was conducted by Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion.
Mr. Dunlap was a 1965 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Reliance Electric and then sold cars beginning with Hadley Chevrolet, Freedom Nissan and the Herb Kinman Dealership. Mr. Dunlap was a member of the Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion, Madison VFW Post 1969 and Madison Moose Lodge No. 765. In his spare time, he enjoyed socializing with friends, watching NASCAR, the Kentucky Wildcats, the Colts and the Denver Broncos. He also enjoyed the Ohio River, hosting Madison Regatta parties, hunting, fishing and the outdoors.
Born November 17, 1946 in LaGrange, Kentucky, Mr. Dunlap was the son of Buford and Lorene "Tootsie" Bray Dunlap. He married Margaret Shake in 1966.
Survivors include a daughter, Kristie (Dean) Tidball of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren, Sarah, Connor, Elizabeth and Cooper Tidball; great-grandson, Finn Tidball; three sisters, Diana (Mike) Simpson and Pamela (Jamie) Harris, all of Madison and Sue (Lewis) Barnes of Bedford, Kentucky; and a brother, Mark (Marcia) Dunlap of Madison.
Mr. Dunlap was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison Riverfront Development Project or the Lide White Boys and Girls Club through the funeral home.
